Race Setup
The Race Setup page lets you configure your pit strategy and final race setup. Access it from Race Week > Race Setup.
Setup Parameters
Configure the five setup parameters (suspension, aero, gearing, brakes, diff) for the race. These can differ from your qualifying setup.
Pit Strategy
You can configure your pit strategy in two modes:
Specific Lap Mode
Manually enter which lap numbers to pit on:
- Planned Stops - number of pit stops planned
- Pit Lap 1/2/3/4/5 - the specific lap for each stop
Percentage Mode
Enter pit stops as a percentage of the race distance:
- Pit % 1/2/3/4/5 - percentage of race completed before pitting
- Pit Wear Threshold - pit when tyre health drops below this percentage
Stint Tyre Compound
Each stint can use a different tyre compound (future implementation - currently all stints use the same generic tyre model).
Pit Strategy Tips
- More stops = fresher tyres = faster laps, but more time lost in the pit lane
- Fewer stops = more track time on older tyres, less pit time lost
- The pit-skip mechanic (see Pit Stops & Strategy) allows skipping stops if tyres are healthy
- Wet weather changes everything - consider pitting for wets if rain is forecast
